The Parent Coordinator’s Corner

Dear Parents/Guardians, and Community,

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Choir Academy of Harlem.  We pride ourselves in providing opportunities for our students to be not only academically successful, but to also enjoy school life.

Providing a strong academic program has always been a vital part at Choir Academy.  We encourage students to first focus on their academics, then to participate in the variety of student activities that are available to them.

Parental support is crucial to the success of our students; without this support, students do not have a solid foundation.  We invite parents into the school for visitations, meetings or activities.  Volunteers are always welcome to assist within the classroom and various committees.

Please take the time to read the Choir Academy "Student and Parent Handbook" that was provided to fully understand the procedures of the school.  If you have any questions or do not understand a portion of the handbook, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Always remember to ask your child if the school has given any correspondence.  This will facilitate the home school connection.  Again, if any concerns should arise throughout the school year feel free to call.

If we all work together, your child can achieve the best possible education. My door is always open.  Remember to take part in the PTA meetings which are held on the first Monday of each month; the Parent Coordinator Workshops will be announced.  One special activity which will be held on the last Friday of each month is the Dad’s Make A Difference Workshops.

Please, always remember when you come into the school to take reminders and notices from the Parent Coordinator’s table located by the security desk in the school’s lobby.

Yours in Education,

Lorraine M. White
